TFG Team builds playground for CSR-project

22.08.2011 - For their ‘TFG-Day’ 80 employees of the logistics company TFG Transfracht built a playground for a little community near Hanover last weekend.

The instructions for the people responsible for the organisation was not just to create a motivating event but to give a sustainable incentive to the community in the sense of a corporate social responsibility (CSR) project. This resulted in a country-city rally with many unusual tasks and later the construction of a whole playground. The target of the daylong rally was Bülten-Ilsede. The little community just south of Hanover has been looking for help to build their project for quite some time. Last weekend help was on their way in the form of highly motivated TFG employees that had to prove their logistical know-how, creativity, ability to improvise and their communication skills.

The speeches of the TFG CEO Gerhard Oswald as well as the visits from mayors Werner Bethmann and Wilfried Brandes on the occasion of the ‘topping-off ceremony’ in the evening were the emotional highlight of the TFG-Day. “What was special about this team event was not just the fact that we did it for a good cause. All employees committed to spending their Saturday with the company voluntarily. None of them were aware of what would happen that day. So it wasn’t so much about motivation and team spirit, as about the recognition of accomplishments and the dedication for a common cause,” emphasises Gerhard Oswald in a concluding statement.
